      Chaga (inonotus obliquus) was studied for its ability to prevent oxidative stress in mice and in vivo and found that it “can prevent the aging process by attenuating oxidative stress in a model of stress-induced premature senescence.”

      The study looked at a few key components that had to do with oxidative stress and aging. Including chaga's ability to help prevent UV sun damage.

      The sun (UV radiation) is one of the most prominent reasons for the aging process to speed up. It can create dark spots, wrinkles, and pretty drastic skin issues.

      Inotodiol, a compound from Chaga mushrooms, and its effects on aging and inflammation under oxidative stress have been studied. Researchers prepared a lanostane triterpenoids-rich concentrate from Chaga, containing inotodiol, and tested its anti-inflammatory activities on human skin cells (HaCaT cells) under various stress conditions, including UVB irradiation and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α stimulation.

      The study found that inotodiol significantly reduced inflammatory gene expression and promoted collagen and hyaluronic acid synthesis, suggesting its potential in anti-aging and therapeutic applications for skin health.
