      Two members of the Missoula city council introduced a resolution to decriminalize entheogenic plants, which include peyote and hallucinogenic mushrooms. The city will further discuss the resolution on June 29, 2022.

      Overview: The city of Missoula is reviewing a resolution to decriminalize entheogenic plant use. The city received an enormous amount of public comment. Legal questions led the vote to be delayed to June 29th.

      Missoula City Council measure would decriminalize hallucinogenic plants

      Overview: Council members Daniel Carlino and Kristen Jordan said entheogenic plants and fungi have been shown to have health benefits and have been used by various cultures for thousands of years. Carlino described the resolution as a grassroots effort backed by “many Missoulians.”
